I helped a startup company that is developing a technology using cameras to evaluate peoples workout routine and give suggestions in order to prevent common workout related accidents. The task was to perform user research, designing the UI and user testing. Me and my team defined our tasks in a Gantt chart, making sure we could keep track of when to move on to next step. The first task was to get an idea of who the potential customers were, user surveys were sent out to a group of random people. These results were then compiled and generalized into a few personas. Next step was to create wire-frames and this was done mainly with pen and paper to capture rough ideas. Low-fidelity prototypes were created using Balsamiq so that they could get early user input from people matching our personas, pointing them in the right direction. Refining these prototypes were done using Adobe Illustrator, and a first draft could then be presented to the company.
