UX Design - Case Study

01 - Overview
The Scania Driver app is a mobile application for professional truck drivers, enabling them to remotely connect to their vehicle and manage everything from cabin heating and charging to workshop service scheduling and driver performance monitoring. Fleet managers also use the platform to oversee their vehicles at scale.
As the UX designer on the project, I worked embedded with the development team to ensure the experience was intuitive and reliable for drivers in demanding, on-the-go contexts.
02 - Visual Design
The app was designed within Scania's Tegel Design System - a unified visual framework spanning the entire Scania product ecosystem. Since Tegel was primarily built for web applications, a significant part of the work involved interpreting and adapting components to suit a mobile context.
The team collectively chose a dark theme early in the project, driven by a deliberate decision to minimise visual distraction for drivers during active shifts - prioritising focus and legibility in a demanding professional environment.
